Perusana - Folic Acid Tablets 0.8 mg , Box of 100 Units :  Folic Acid  is  a hydrosoluble vitamin of the complex vitamins B, required for the formation of structural proteins and hemoglobin. It is found in organ meats, green leafy vegetables, legumes, brewer's yeast and whole grains and nuts such as almonds, as well as fortified foods. Folic acid is lost in foods preserved at room temperature during cooking. Unlike other water soluble vitamins, folic acid is stored in the liver and do not need to ingest daily.
 
Pregnancy
If a woman has enough folic acid before becoming pregnant , this vitamin can prevent deformation in the placenta which would result in abortion, birth defects in the brain (anencephaly) and spine (spina bifida) of the  baby by the wrong closing of the tube neural  in the cephalic and caudal ends respectively. 
Spina bifida, (a birth defect in the spine )  can cause paralysis of the lower body, the lack of control of bowel and bladder, and learning difficulties. If the fetus has folic acid deficiency during pregnancy , he may suffer megaloblastic anemia also he may present premature  low birth weight. The mother may suffer eclampsia, a process that causes hypertension and albuminuria. Folic acid also helps maintain a healthy parent.
